Group Motion presents the work of emerging and established performing artists through two series: The Visiting Artists Festival and The Spiel Uhr Series.

  • The Visiting Artists Festival, established in 1988, brings national and international artists to Philadelphia's audiences and artistic community. Over the years, the Group Motion Company has had the opportunity to present and collaborate with such artists as Carol Brown, choreographer, London; Masaki Iwani, butoh dancer, Tokyo/Paris; Melanie Rios, choreographer, Guatemala; Claudia Lefel, choreographer, Argentina; Babatunde Olatunji, drummer, USA/Nigeria; Katherine Sehnert, choreographer, Germany; and Joseph Wong, artist and architect, China.

  • The Spiel Uhr (Play Clock) Series was also established in 1988 to present the works of local and national artists. Artists presented over the years include Laina Fischbeck, Hope Clark, Laura Peterson, and members of the Atlanta/Miami/Philadelphia field exchange: Renee Banson, Sue Schroeder, Lori Teague, and Linda Caruso Havilland.

Group Motion also participates in presenting series sponsored through the Kumquat Dance Center.
