Califia and the Trespassers is a performance installation involving electronic music by Andrea Clearfield, film installation and texts by Quintan Ana Wikswo, and choreography for eleven dancers by Manfred Fischbeck.

The piece leads the audiences on a journey through two spaces at Christ Church into a meditation and reflection on ecological and human violence, ‘trespasses’ of colonialism , oppression and destruction of natural habitats and native cultures. The audience is able to move freely in the performance spaces at any time during the performance. 

The work was developed while in residence at the Lucas Artist Residency Program,
Montalvo Arts Center, Saratoga, California and was supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.
